A multidisciplinary practice
I’m Joseph Wyckoff, a research scientist with degrees in geography and art.
My work moves between analytical and intuitive ways of understanding the world. Geography asks how place, pattern, and change can be observed. Art asks what those observations feel like—and what they might become when memory and invention enter the picture.
I work across maps, painting, drawing, music, and moving images. The methods differ, but the underlying interest remains consistent: how people read landscapes, build worlds, and find meaning in spatial relationships.
This site is an evolving field notebook: a place for finished pieces, ongoing research, recordings, and experiments.
